Your 18-Month Journey with BREATHE-CC
The BREATHE-CC study follows your child over 18 months to understand how environmental factors affect respiratory health. After enrolling, you will complete a brief monthly survey about your child's symptoms and environment. Here is what to expect at each stage.
How It Works
Enroll
Complete enrollment paperwork and the baseline survey about your child's health history and home environment.
Monthly Surveys
Each month, answer a short survey through MyCap about your child's respiratory symptoms and any changes at home.
Get Compensated
Receive Visa gift cards quarterly, plus bonus payments for consistent participation every 6 months.
18-Month Timeline
Complete informed consent, provide demographic and household information, and answer the baseline health questionnaire about your child's respiratory history.
$25 Gift CardComplete a brief monthly survey via MyCap reporting your child's wheeze episodes, cough frequency, medication use, and any environmental changes in the home. Reminders will be sent via text or email.
$50 Gift Card at Month 3Continue monthly surveys. At Month 6, participants who have not missed more than one survey during the first 6 months earn a $25 semi-annual completion bonus in addition to the quarterly payment.
$50 Gift Card at Month 6 + $25 Bonus*Continue completing monthly symptom surveys. Progress updates and reminders will be sent between payment periods to keep you informed about the study.
$50 Gift Card at Month 9At Month 12, earn your second semi-annual completion bonus of $25 if you have missed no more than one survey during the second 6-month period (Months 7–12).
$50 Gift Card at Month 12 + $25 Bonus*Continue with monthly surveys as before. Your consistent participation helps researchers track seasonal patterns in respiratory symptoms over the full study period.
$50 Gift Card at Month 15Complete your final monthly surveys. At Month 18, earn your third semi-annual completion bonus of $25 if you have missed no more than one survey during the final 6-month period. Thank you for your contribution to children's health research!

Gift Card Payments Over 18 Months
Participants receive Visa gift cards as compensation for completing study surveys. You will receive $25 after finishing the enrollment surveys, and then $50 payments will be distributed quarterly to participants who continue to answer the surveys. Participants who do not miss more than one survey during each 6-month period will receive additional completion bonuses of $25 at 6 months, 12 months, and study completion. Monthly survey reminders and progress updates will be sent between payments. Change of Address and Change of Contact forms are not compensated.
